Muir Woods

One of our must dos for our California Coastal trip was to walk in the Redwoods. The Muir Woods National Monument was a beautiful place to walk amongst the giants.

Fern Creek, Lost, and Canopy Trail Loop

While at the Muir Woods we did the 3 mile Fern Creek, Lost, and Canopy Trail Loop. This hike allowed us to work our way from the bottom of the redwoods through the canopy. The hike is of moderate intensity and I would highly recommend hiking shoes, small day pack, and water for your hike. The terrain on the trail can be ragged at times and there are some steep climbs so stay mindful.

Kid and Family Friendly Trail:
The Muir Woods Fern Creek Loop trail is a great way to see the Redwoods with your family who aren’t such skilled hikers, its an easy and accessible walk along the river with all kinds of rich history posted along the way.

You MUST make a reservation prior to your visit, they book up quickly so be sure to check the Muir Woods Website to make your reservation.
